This collection includes newspaper clippings, biographical sketches, talks and manuscripts, professional correspondence including consultation work for Iowa businesses and towns, correspondence with former students, and with government officials, and correspondence with George W. Bissell, his predecessor who left to become Dean of Engineering at Michigan Agricultural College. The files also contain administrative and professional correspondence with Iowa State College administrators: Presidents Storms, Pearson, and Hughes, Secretary Stanton, Business Manager Knapp, Engineering Dean Marston, Professor Bissell (Chairman of M.E. (1894-1907)), the Board of Trustees and several committees of which Meeker was a member (Ames-College Water Rate Committee, Ames School Board, Ames-College Street Car Rate Committee and the Iowa Elevator Safety Code Board).

Warren H. Meeker, an 1891 Cornell University graduate, was hired as an assistant in Mechanical Engineering in July 1891. He was promoted to Assistant Professor in March 1892, Associate Professor in 1900, Professor in July 1905 and Chairman of the Department in June 1907, a position he held until 1933.
